MLS System Requirements

Equipment

• Pentium (4) 2.8 GHz or equivalent
• Microsoft XP 32 bit (Home or Professional Version) with at least Service Pack 1  OR
• The New Microsoft Vista 32-bit Operating System will work with our proprietary platform, BeyondTXT, Editscript v6 (with word 2003 only), v8 and v9 (with word 2003 or 2007) and IE 6 or IE7 (Vista 64-bit will not work). Vista 32-bit will NOT work with other platforms such as Chartscript, Meditech, etc. Speak with the recruiter at your interview to assure that the operating system you have on your computer will be compatible with the platform you are being considered for.
• 512 MB of RAM or better
• 5 GB of free disk space or better
• Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1 or newer
• Speakers
• Monitor
• Mouse
• Keyboard
• Sound card
• MUST have MS Word
  - Version 2003 or later. The new 2007 version will now work with our proprietary platform, BeyondTXT. For clarity, please check with the recruiter at your interview to be sure the version of Word you have will be compatible with the platform you are being considered for.
• USB foot pedal or other appropriate foot pedal for platform
  - This alone can be provided by Transcend Services for employees.

Software

• Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1 or newer OR Windows Vista 32-bit Operating System. Some of our platforms are not compatible with Vista. Please check with the recruiter at your interview to be sure the operating system you have on your computer is compatible with the platform you are being considered for.
• Norton Antivirus preferred, other antivirus software is compatible.
• One of the following:

• Stedman's Spellchecker 2004 or newer

Other Things to Consider

• You must have local user administrative rights on your PC.
  (If you are using another company's PC to work for Transcend, you may or may not have this.)
• You must have knowledge of your firewall situation in your home.
• Your Internet Explorer should not be set up to filter SSL traffic or block ActiveX controls.
