Company History

Transcend Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRCR) was formed in 1993 by Larry Gerdes and Walter Huff.  Mr. Huff was a founder of HBOC, and Mr. Gerdes was its Chief Financial Officer in the 1980s.  Transcend Services originally provided consulting, interim management, and other outsourcing services for health information management departments. In 1998, Transcend began focusing exclusively on medical transcription services and has grown steadily to become the third largest U.S. medical transcription company.

Transcend currently employs more than 2100 domestic medical language specialists and serves over 250 different customers. Transcend's customers include hospitals, health systems, and clinics. A public company, Transcend's corporate headquarters and national data center are located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Transcend is recognized as an industry leader in overall customer satisfaction. Since the first KLAS MTSO Survey of Medical Transcription Service Organizations published in 2006, Transcend has been consistently ranked among the top transcription companies.
